A new Global Workforce Study by global HR consultant Towers Watson found that over two-thirds of U.S. workers “are not fully engaged in their work and are struggling to cope with work situations that don’t provide sufficient support.”
The Deloitte Millennial Survey released in January 2014 found that 70% of millennials see themselves working independently at some point rather than being employed within a traditional organizational structure.
It also found that the top reason why millennials leave their companies after two years is because of a lack of career and personal opportunities. A big reason for that is that millennials want things companies aren’t currently giving them: autonomy, creativity, and meaning.
Who has the biggest control over an employee’s experience within the company? It’s their manager! If your managers or supervisors aren’t concerned about employee engagement or don’t see their role in employee engagement, then you will see good employees leaving for greener pastures.
Now you have a bigger problem – a revolving door of employees. You hire new people to replace the ones who left; assign them to managers who don’t engage and quickly demotivate; they leave and the cycle starts all over. This webinar will provide a manager’s tool kit to increase and enhance employee engagement focusing on millennials.

Why you should attend

The Global Workforce Study by Towers Watson and The Deloitte Millennial Survey both show that approximately 70% of American workers who are either not engaged – not inspired by their work or actively disengaged – not working for but against the company. Many of these employees have ineffective or just bad bosses. The saying is, “People don’t leave companies they leave bad managers.”
Also when workers are emotionally disconnected from their companies and may actually be working against their employers' interests. They tend to be less productive; to be more likely to steal from their companies; to negatively influence their co-workers as well as miss workdays and drive customers away.
Therefore, when workers are not fully engaged, it leads to greater performance risk for employers. It makes companies more vulnerable to lower productivity, higher inefficiency, weaker customer service, and greater rates of absenteeism and turnover. And it costs companies millions of dollars each year in waste, inefficiency and customer dissatisfaction.
